Carolyn Seymour Hansen was an Ohio Teen Caravener to Japan in 1970 and an IFYE-YDP to Philippines, June ‘72-August ’73. In addition to chair the orientation committee for the Ohio IFYE program in the late 70’s, she was also a co-coordinator of the 1980 National IFYE Conference in Wilminton, Ohio. Carolyn also served on the World IFYE Conference Steering Committee held in Manila, Philippines.
Carolyn is now retired after working in the insurance field, mostly as a manager in the Learning & Development field of State Farm and COUNTRY Financial. She completed her career as a 4-H Youth Development Educator in McLean County. Among her volunteer efforts are serving as President of the Olympia Kiwanis Club, member of the Olympia School District Board of Education, Steering Committee of YICU Community Service Awards, FIRST Robotics Competition Judge, and Normal First United Methodist Church. This past summer Carolyn continued her International 4-H adventures by serving as chaperone for eight weeks to 13 4-H members from around the country to Japan. Carolyn is a very loyal and vocal alumna of The Ohio State University. Her most important role is being a wife to Gordon and mother to Eric.
